Our priorities

Good politics starts with listening.

Whether at people's front doors, at information stands or in our social advice surgeries — I have listened, and I will fight for our priorities in the House of Representatives. Good politics means knowing not only the issues voters care about, but the reality they live in. That is my greatest strength, because I am one of you. Together with you, I want to do politics differently. What does that mean? Let me explain it here:

A salary cap? Of course!

Out-of-touch pay makes for out-of-touch politicians. I am in politics because I care about the people here. That is why I will cap my own salary and donate money every month — to a solidarity fund for people in hardship and to youth projects in the Kiez (neighbourhood). I will publish my spending openly on my website. That is what honest politics looks like.
We deserve that.

Community assemblies

Politics does not belong behind closed doors. At regular community assemblies we come together, put the problems on the table and decide together what is most urgent. Doing politics differently means doing politics together.
This is where your thoughts turn straight into policy!

And of course there will be food and drink, hands-on activities and childcare too.

We are diverse — and we should celebrate it.

So many different cultures and open-hearted people are at home in our part of Berlin, and they enrich this place every single day. I want to campaign actively for more community life in our neighbourhood. Public viewing together at sporting events, free volunteer-run tutoring, an annual culture and street festival — to name just a few of the ideas I want to make happen in our constituency. With your vote and your support we can make our home even better.

An end to the rent mafia

Deutsche Wohnen, Adler & Co. have been pushing rents up in Gropiusstadt for years. I want to stop that — with a Mietendeckel (rent cap), council housing and genuine expropriation.

Good schools, a strong young generation

As a private tutor I know that success at school still depends far too much on the family you are born into. I am fighting for refurbished schools, more staff and youth clubs that are not the first thing to be cut.

37.3 % — the fight against poverty

That is how many children in Gropiusstadt grow up in families who depend on Grundsicherung (basic welfare support) — the second-highest rate in Neukölln, the district with the highest child poverty in Berlin. I refuse to accept that.
