2. Data minimisation — the principle behind this site

Protecting your personal data matters to me. This website has deliberately been built to collect as little data as possible: it is served statically, uses self-hosted fonts (no calls to Google Fonts), employs no tracking or analytics tools (no Google Analytics, no Matomo/Piwik) and no advertising cookies. Only the data that is technically necessary to run the site and to handle your enquiries is processed.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. The servers are located in Germany; no transfer to a third country outside the EU/EEA takes place. When you open the site, the host automatically processes technical access data in what are known as server log files: IP address, date and time of access, the file requested, the volume of data transferred, browser type and version, and the page visited previously (referrer). This serves solely the secure and stable operation of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a functioning, secure website). A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host. The log files are deleted after one year.

4. Cookies

This website does not need cookies for its basic functions and sets no cookies for analytics or advertising purposes. Technically necessary settings (your choice of language: Deutsch/Türkçe/English/Polski/Kurmancî/العربية/Español/Українська/Русский) are stored solely locally in your browser (localStorage) and are not transmitted to me or to third parties. Under § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG this storage does not require consent, because it is strictly necessary for the function you have requested.

5. SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the “https://” in the address bar and by the padlock symbol in your browser.

6. Getting in touch (contact form and email)

If you write to me via the contact form or by email, I process the details you provide (your name, email address and the content of your message) in order to handle and answer your enquiry. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR); if your message is aimed at initiating a concrete matter, Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR applies in addition. Providing the data is voluntary; without a name, email address and message, however, I cannot deal with your enquiry. Incoming messages are accessible to Yurtsever Özdemir alone. I do not pass the data on to third parties without your consent, and I delete it as soon as it is no longer needed to answer you and no statutory retention periods stand in the way.

Protection against misuse: So that the form cannot be abused for bulk mailings, the number of messages per sender is limited (three per hour, ten per day). To achieve this, an irreversible check value is generated from your IP address when you submit the form (HMAC-SHA256 using a randomly generated key stored on the server) and saved together with the time of the message. Your IP address itself is not stored and cannot be reconstructed from the check value. These entries are deleted automatically after 24 hours at the latest. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in protecting this website against abusive use (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

7. Your rights

You have the right at any time to obtain information about the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), to erasure (Art. 17), to restriction of processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent you have given at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR). Simply get in touch using the contact details given above.

8. Right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority

If you believe that the processing of your data infringes data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority is:
